Wat Chulamanee was built in the Ayutthaya period during the late reign of King Prasat Thong and located on the Canal side where the Amphawa Canal converges with the Phi Lok Canal. Wat Chulamanee was historical importance related to the Bang Chang branch of the Chakri Dynasty family lineage. It is likely that Thao Kaeophaluek (Noi), owner of the Bang Chang Market (ancestor of the royal lineage of Bang Chang) commissioned the temple. The back of the temple once contained the residence of Khun Nak (Queen AmmarinThramat of King Rama I) and Khun Bunrot (Queen Si SuriyenThramat of King Rama II). Wat Chulamanee originally was built with teak wooden buildings, which rotted over time, and so it was in the time of LP Nueang when they were repaired and replaced by much more long lasting constructions. This was also one of the factors which led to LP Nueang becoming the most beloved and well remembered Abbot of Wat Chulamanee and for which the local devotees loved him so much for his merits.
