Visiting Wat PhraYaYat & Met With LP Jai (year BE2567) Samut Songkhram - Thailand.

Wat PhraYaYat, also well know as Wat Pak Ngam by local villagers. Wat PhraYaYat is a royal temple under the Maha Nikaya Sangha. It is located at the meeting point between three canals, namely Khlong Daodueng, Khlong Chulamani and Khlong Amphawa Canal. For this reason, the locals call it Wat Pak Ngam. According by record, Wat PhraYaYat was established in year 1800, believed it was built since the Ayutthaya period and some period of time temple fell into disrepair. During the Thonburi period, King Rama Nuchit or Prince Suphanthawong, together with his relatives, restored it as a tribute to King Taksin the Great. The temple received the Royal Wisungkhamsima Award on January 12, 1979. Since then until recently, Wat PhraYaYat with previous abbot LP Thong and current abbot LP Jai.
