Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat (Suphanburi) ~ The Old Stupa (Chedi) ~ Phra PhongSuphan Of Benjapakee (Part 1/2).

There are two sides of this temple (old and new). The old section is not in a very good state but is worth seeing, we sharing photos for old section for this part 1 and new section for part 2. The old section main attraction is the old Stupa or known as Chedi. It is built at least 600 years old and was once in the heart of the ancient town of Suphannaphum (now is suphanburi). The main stupa or Chedi also once housed relics of the Lord Buddha, but it was sacked by raiders and left in ruins. Raiders targeted votive tablets, created in the Suphanburi style, which had been stored there. The tablets are among the top five most sought-after series in the Kingdom.
