The Grandest Shrine Of Nezha 哪吒三太子 In Chonburi - Thailand.

The Shrine of Nezha SanTaiZi (哪吒三太子) known as Wat Thep Sathip Phra Kitti Chalerm, previously a small shrine in Chonburi. It was rebuilt and enlarged by the Dharma Rasami Maneerat Foundation to commemratem the 72nd birthday anniversary of His Majesty the King. The construction began in year 1995 and took 4 years to complete. The present shrine sits on 6400 square metres of land with additional surrounding land of 12800 square metres. The Supreme Patriarch presided over the casting of seven Phra Buddha images and presented Relics of the Lord Buddha and also provided the name of the temple, which is means the house of all gods. Other interesting features on the grounds include the Lotus Pond, the Dhamma pratice building and the Heaven Earth Pole at the entrance of the Nezha Doss House.

 The Nezha and the Lotus Pond. According from Wiki, Nezha (哪吒三太子) is a Taoist protection deity, originally of Chinese Buddhist mythology. His official Taoist name is 'Marshal of the Central Altar' (中壇元)'. He was then given the title 'Third Lotus Prince' (莲花三太子) after he became a Deity.

Wat Mahathat Woramahawihan With JatuKham RamaThep ~ The UNESCO World Heritage Site Of Nakhon Si Thammarat - Thailand (Part 2).

This Part 2, I will focus the Phra Borommathat Chedi, literally, the Great Noble Relics Stupa, was built prior to other religious architectural buildings in the temple by King Sri Dhammasokaraja in approximately the early 13th century CE. in order to establish the Theravada Buddhist symbol on the land and to serve the belief of his people on the presence of the Buddha’s relics in site which should be housed by the stupa. The Phra Borommathat Chedi is regarded as the oldest bell-shaped stupa housing the Buddha Relics in ThailandBetween the principal stupa, there are 158 minor chedis housing ashes and bones of the Buddhist devotees.

Wat Mahathat Woramahawihan With JatuKham RamaThep ~ The UNESCO World Heritage Site Of Nakhon Si Thammarat - Thailand (Part 1).

The Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan  is the most important temple of Nakhon Si Thammarat and southern Thailand for birthplace of JatuKham RamaThep. It was constructed at the time of the founding of the town, and contains a tooth Relic of Phra Buddha. The sacred 78 metre high of Phra Boromathat Chedi is surrounded by 173 smaller ones. While the chedi is now in Sri Lankan style, it is said to be built on top of an earlier Kingdom Srivijaya style chedi. The sacred chedi completed a renovation in early 2009 and now appears like new. In June 2013, Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan in Thailand’s southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat on Friday was endorsed on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites for cultural category.

 According to the legend of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Prince Thanakuman and Queen Hem Chala brought Buddha relics to Hat Sai Kaeo and built a small pagoda to mark the location. Later on, King Si-Thamma Sokarat established the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat and built a new pagoda.

Phra Buddha Sihing ~ The Phra Phuttha Sihing Hall Of Nakhon Si Thammarat - Thailand.

This site Hall is between the City Hall and Provincial Courthouse of Nakhon Si Thammarat. This area used to be the residence of the provincial governor and the hall was built for the sacred 'Phra Phuttha Sihing', which is a Phra Buddha image of Great Significance. The present building was built in the period of King Vajiravudh (1910-1925).
You can't afford to miss the important landmarks of Nakhon Si Thammarat, the Phra Phuttha Sihing Hall and image of Phra Buddha Sihing.

 This sacred image of Phra Phuttha Sihing was believed to have been ordered by the king of Lanka in 157 AD and was brought to Thailand during the reign of King Ramkhamhaeng the Great. There are currently 3 similar images in Thailand which are at the National Museum in Bangkok, Wat Phra Singh in Chiang Mai and this image in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
