The Unique & beautiful temple on a spacious area of over 30 rai, Mueang District, Maha Sarakham Province, built by Phra Ajarn Suriyan Kosapanyo, a disciple of Luang Pu Khamphan Kosapanyo, a revered monk of the Isan people, since BE2549 until it was legally elevated to a temple in BE2555. It is a temple that was established not long ago. But it is developing very quickly. It is a very grand and magnificent temple built of Golden Teak wood.
LP Suriyan Kosapanyo ~ Wat Pa Wang Nam Yen (PutthaWanaram), Maha Sarakham province. He was disciple of Luang Pu Khamphan Khosapanyo, a respected monk of the Isan people (lineage of Phra Ajahn Mun). The highlight of Wat Pa Wang Nam Yen is the large golden Chedi Sri Maha Sarakham, which can be seen from afar. It also has the largest wooden prayer hall in the country, which uses 112 wooden pillars. Inside the temple are three pure gold Buddha statues weighing over 12 kilograms, which are paraded around the city during the annual Kathina robe-offering ceremony.
When we arrived at the temple, the first place we stopped to visit was seek blessings from LP Suriyan. Arrived here already with many devotees in waiting line for blessings. Finally its my turn to seek blessings by LP Suriyan. Wat Pa Wang Nam Yen is exceptional in terms of wooden structures and the serene atmosphere also felt a sense of Holiness on site from LP Suriyan. This temple should be the recommended place to visit when you come to Maha Sarakham.Photos taken with LP Suriyan Kosapanyo from his blessing.
