Revisited Again (BE2567) Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan - Bangkok - Thailand.

Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan formerly known as Wat Bang Wa Yai. An old temple that has existed since the Ayutthaya period. During the reign of King Rama I, this temple was rebuilt and a bell was discovered there. The old bell that was discovered has the characteristic of having a good sound. The sound was especially beautiful, so King Rama I graciously ordered it. Bring it to Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram. (Wat Phra Kaew Morakot) by building 5 compensatory bells, which can be seen in the bell tower inside the current temple Wat Rakhang. After that, the name of the new temple was bestowed from the original name Wat Bang Wa Yai to "Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan"

This is Phra Wiharn Somdet Phra Sangharaja (Sri) is where the relics of Somdet Phra Sangharaja (Sri) are housed. Previously, there were many old Buddha images venerated inside here, but they have been moved out to be placed outside there for easy worshiper to worship. The White Chedi of Phra Prang built in the reign of King Rama I is a Phra Prang of early Rattanakosin architecture. It is very beautiful, which is considered a prototype for the construction of prangs in later eras.
Beautiful building of The Tripitaka Hall was originally the residence of King Rama I before he ascended the throne. It is in the form of three twin houses. A place you must visit when come to Wat Rakhang.
A must photo taken when visited here. Inside has beautiful murals and 2 large Tripitaka cabinets painted with golden designs.
