Revisited Again (BE2567) The Tallest Standing Buddha Luang Pho Toh Of Wat Intharawihan - Bangkok - Thailand (Part 2/2).

The magnificent tall Golden Standing Phra Buddha Luang Pho Toh, it can be seen from main road and close to Rama VIII Bridge of Chao Phraya river. The temple is very peaceful, cool, with a beautiful area and full of art.

Wat Intharawihan (local known as Wat BangKhunPhrom) in a historic temple in Bangkok famous for the 32 meter tall standing Buddha image and its meditation center. In BE2410, Somdet Phra Phutthacharn Toh, a revered monk, initiated the construction of the giant Golden Standing Buddha image Luang Pho Toh to serve as the Buddhist landmark, which was completed in BE2470, 60++ more years after the death of Somdet Phra Phutthacharn Toh. The Golden Standing Buddha Luang Pho Toh is now the sacred Buddhist statue for both locals and international visitors.

Photo taken at front of the Big Golden Standing Buddha Luang Pho Toh. The topknot of Golden Standing Buddha Luang Pho Toh image contains relics of the Buddha found in Sri Lanka, which were a gift from the government of Sri Lanka and installed by Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn in BE2521. In year BE2525, when the city of Bangkok celebrated its founding 200 years earlier, restoration works were carried out and the image was decorated with Italian golden mosaics.

Everyday devotees visit the temple Wat Intharawihan to worship and pray with offerings to Golden Standing Buddha Luang Pho Toh statue. We could touch the feet of the Buddha here and apply the gold leaf to the feet and bring flowers and other items and burning incense sticks.

Somdet Phra Phutthacharn Toh (Somdet Toh) passed away at the foot of a Golden Standing Luang Pho Toh, incomplete Golden Standing Buddha statue at Wat Intharawihan in June 1871. While inspecting the construction of the figure, he slept in a tent at the worksite where he was found deceased.
