It is a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture, contemporary art, with a lap width of 25.45 meters and a height of 45 meters. The structure is reinforced concrete and decorated with white jade marble "Suriyakantha" from Burma. The weight of the marble and white jade alone is approximately 135 tons or approximately 2,500 square meters. The Gong at The Big Buddha - Phuket. Devotees rub the gong to "awaken" it and show respect to the Buddha. Instead of striking the gong, a rubber mallet or a padded stick is rubbed in a circular motion along the rim or surface of the gong. This rubbing creates friction, which causes the metal to vibrate.
