Visited Wat Kanmatuyaram - Bangkok Chinatown - Thailand.

Wat Kanmatuyaram (also known as Wat Yo Khan Tue) stands as a testament to filial piety, architectural artistry and spiritual devotion. This revered temple, belonging to the Dhammayuttika Nikaya of Theravada Buddhism. Wat Kanmatuyaram boasts a captivating history interwoven with the lives of prominent figures and adorned with stunning examples of Thai craftsmanship.
The signboard with name of Wat Kanmatuyaram located on Mangkon Road entrance in the area of Bangkok's Chinatown. The temple belongs to Dhammayuttika Nikaya of Theravada Buddhism. Wat Kanmatuyaram is a compact temple on the busy and narrow Mangkon Road. The Mangkon Road is a busy street full of shops and stalls and the existence of a temple in such a busy area comes as something of a surprise.
The temple history dating back to the King Mongkut (Rama IV)'s reign. When Mrs. Kleap Sakhonwasi dedicated her flower garden, to be built as a Buddhist temple Wat Kanmatuyaram. She was the daughter of Yai Fang, the proprietor of the renowned sporting house in Sampheng area, who devote own land to create a temple Wat Khanikaphon (now located on nearby Phlapphla Chai Road). Wat Kanmatuyaram was completed in 1864. When it completed, her son Mr. Kan Sakhonwasi became a royal page of King Mongkut and the King named it "Wat Kanmatuyaram", which means "temple of Mr. Kan’s mother".

The major featured at Wat Kanmatuyaram is it Ubosot Hall which has been conservatively designed in a classic Central Thailand style. The ordination Ubosot Hall features a main statue of the Lord Buddha housed within a small wooden box butsabok with a roof (small house image). The inside of the ordination hall also features some very good wall murals depicting scenes from the life of the Lord Buddha. The whole Ubosot was built with bricks and lime cement in the old style of narrow and tall building with 2 tier roofs. The top decorated with embedded with mirror pieces fragments. The floor are made from marble. The arch doors and windows are stucco sculptured with flower patterns with gold foil covering.

The wall of mausoleum. Along the walls inside are contains the urn ashes of a deceased people. Also with main altar for the mausoleum.
Iconic architectural chedi at Wat Kanmatuyaram is unusual as it is one of only two chedi in Thailand styled on the famous Dhamek Stupa in Saranath in India. Saranath is near Varanasi in India and it is the place where the Lord Buddha is believed to have given his first sermon after achieving enlightenment.
