LP Sila Sirichanto resides at Thamma Utthayan Dhamma Park, Mueang Kalasin District, Kalasin province now (he moved from Wat Pho Si Saat where last time often spent the rains retreat at the temple). He also built another new temple and often visits to Wat PhraThat Muen Hin (see my posting). LP Maha Sila founded this temple Wat PhraThat Muen Hin in BE2567 and now serves as abbot.

LP Sila Sirichanto was born with the name Sila Nilchan on October 14, BE2488, during the 8th waxing moon of the 11th month in the Year of the Rooster. He is currently 79 years old (this year BE2567). At the age of 15, he was ordained as a novice monk at Wat That Prathap and he was ordained into the Maha Nikaya sect in BE 2509 at Wat Burapha Phiram, Roi Et Province, under the supervision of Phra Siriwutthimethi, who was the provincial monk leader at that time. LP Sila dedicated himself to studying Buddhist scriptures, successfully passing the highest level of the Dhamma examination (Nak Tham Ek) and receiving the sixth-level Pali certificate. He was presented with the monk’s fan by King Rama IX in BE2515 at Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram (Wat Phra Kaew ~ Temple of the Emerald Buddha). He later became a teacher at Wat Nikom Kunnarama School in Roi Et province and regularly took the role of reciting the Patimokkha (monk’s code) in various Sangha gatherings.
