Standing on Thailand land, front side is Mekong river, left hand side of Myanmar and right hand side of Laos.
This temple Wat Phra That Pu Khao is located on a Hill near Mae Khong (Mekong) river, Wat Phra That Pu Khao is centred by a Mondop surrounded by 5 'satellite' Chedis at the back side of temple wiharn. These structures are enclosed by double boundary walls with a staircase on each side except for the Western wall. According to legend, Chao Kaeo MaMuang had this temple constructed around 759AD. However, the architecture indicates that it should been constructed around 14th AD century.
