Very unique temple of Wat Khlong Thom with has interesting historical evidence of civilization and ancient way of life in the southern region on the Andaman Sea coast. Wat Khlong Thom itself is the Buddhist religion temple, 三寬公 Shrine and with Khlong Thom Museum.

One of the important temples in Krabi province.The Wiharn for 三寬公 Shrine with sacred Phra Sampao Gong or Luang Pho Zhu Cheng wooden Buddha statue of 1.3 meter height. Some people believe that old statue is made from agarwood materials but there is no clear history of its origins. There is only a story that a sailor found the old statue floating in the middle of the sea. Therefore, it was brought to be enshrined on the mast of a ship and later presented to Wat Khlong Thom and is enshrined at this temple until the present day.Altar with venerated Phra Sampao Gong or Luang Pho Zhu Cheng (center), LP Thuad and PT Klai statues.

Wat Khlong Thom located in the maritime route of ancient trade city. Temple area found the various artifacts discovered during excavations of an area called "Khuan Luk Pat" or a bead mound behind Wat Khlong Thom. Unearthed artifacts include stone tools, bronze implements, metal coins, pottery shards, ceramic and stone decorative art and colored beads that are over 2,000 till 5,000 years old. All the artifacts was put on exhibits in this 'Khlong Thom Museum'.
During my visited, the Museum is closed. I'll come to visit again in future. The front side building with image of Colours Ceramic Beads.
The ongoing construction for Great Stupa Phra Mahathat Chedi in Wat Khlong Thom. Currently PhraKru Sathit Narathikarn (abbot of Wat Khlong Thom) is raise funds to build 4 statues in the 4 directions of this Great Stupa Phra Mahathat Chedi. The 4 statues is Phra Buddha Sihing, Phra Upakut, Phra Indra and Tao Jatukham Ramathep.
