Revisited BE2567 Wat SriDonMoon & Met With Kruba Noi Techapanyo - Chiang Mai - Thailand (Part 1/2).

On 26th December BE2567, I went for my temples journey to one of Chiang Mai’s gorgeous buddhist temples — Wat Sri Don Moon. Each sacred building within the temple precinct is unique and distinctive. It's mostly quiet and serene. So, we can appreciate its artistic style and beauty peacefully. Are you ready to come with me? Let’s start!! For Part 1/2, we sharing photos with Kruba Noi Techapanyo.
Absolutely peaceful temple and temple compound is quite large with amazing architecture buildings. And for sure my intention to meet and pay respect to Kruba Noi.

The arts and the architectures are the highlights of this temple. It definitely looked and felt like heaven on earth. On the floor with man made of artificial fog.

First photo taken with Kruba Noi Techapanyo with all my holy items obtained to rebless again. Here is the place where Kruba Noi personally meet with believers every day.
Kruba Noi deeply consecrated and blessed all the holy items.
Close view for Kruba Noi reblessed all the holy items. He's a famous Lanna monk in Chiang Mai province. Biography of Kruba Noi Techapanyo (PhraKru Siri Silsangwon) Wat SriDonMoon, whose original name was Prasert Kongkham (Noi), was the son of Mr. Kham and Mrs. Tamkham Kongkham. He was born on Saturday, February 10, 1951, the 4th waning moon of the 3rd lunar month (northern) in the Year of the Tiger, at Ban Sri Don Mon, Tambon Chomphu, Amphoe Saraphi, Chiang Mai. He had 4 siblings who shared the same parents: 1. Miss Songwan Kongkham (deceased) 2. PhraKru Siri Silsangwon (Kruba Noi) 3. Mr. Kaew Kongkham 4. Mr. Phat Kongkham. *When he was born, Mr. Prasert Kongkham had the umbilical cord wrapped around his body. According to the belief of ancient teachers in the North, it was said that he would be ordained as a monk to continue the Buddhist religion. In accordance with the belief of the ancient people, the little boy liked to follow his mother Tamkham to make merit at the temple on Buddhist holy days. During the sermon, the little boy was composed in his body, speech and mind and listened to the sermon attentively. He had serious faith in Lord Buddha, Kruba Phat (former abbot of Wat Sridonmoon) and religion. When he was 7 years old, his mother Tamkham Kongkham took him to be a temple boy to study with Kruba Phat (PhraKru Baidika Phat Phususitthammo) at Wat Sri Don Moon. At that time, Kruba Phat was a monk who was skilled in incantation, invulnerability and treating patients with herbal medicine. His reputation was well-known in Chiang Mai Province. Since then, the young boy was taught about Dhamma and Lanna script (which is a language that collects the incantations of the Lanna people) from Kruba Phat. With his determination to be a child who was eager to learn, the young boy learned faster than other temple boys his age.
While being a temple boy, he studied the Lanna language and Dhamma along with the Ministry of Education’s curriculum until he finished primary school year 4, which was considered the end of compulsory education. When the young boy was 13 years old, Kruba Phat consulted with his father Kham and mother Tamkham that they would bring the young boy to be ordained as a novice because he had been at the temple for a long time. And he had already finished the compulsory education when the young boy was ordained as a samanera on Monday, June 6, 1964, the Year of the Horse, with PhraKru Intharatham (Kruba Inkaew) of Wat Ku Suea, Saraphi District as his preceptor. After that, the young novice devoted his time to studying the Dharma and Vinaya strictly. Along with studying herbal medicine, herbs and incantations for invulnerability and loving-kindness from Kruba Phat with true determination. Until he was loved by Kruba Phat very much. Finally, he passed the Naktham Tri, Tho and Ek exams, which at that time were considered the highest level of education at the Wat Sri Don Moon Dhamma School. After that, he became a teacher of Dhamma to the younger novices with perseverance and determination to continue the study of Buddhism. Later, he went to study at the level of Pali, which is a higher level of education, at the school of Wat Buppharam, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. After the young novice returned to help PhraKru Phisit Sangkhakan (Kruba Phat, who held the position of Deputy Abbot of Saraphi District for a while), he was old enough to be ordained as a monk. He was ordained as a monk on May 3, 1971 at the Ubosot of Wat Phraya Chomphu with PhraKru Phutthathitwong (Kruba Unruen) of Wat Pa Khae Yong as the preceptor, PhraKru Somchutintharo as the kammavajacariya, and Phra Palat Phat Phusasittamo as the anusavanacariya. After being ordained, he received the religious name Techapanyo, which means one with wisdom as power. After being ordained, the young monk helped the work of Kruba Phat. He was the deputy abbot of Saraphi district in terms of public utilities, namely in charge of the construction of religious buildings and religious objects of every temple in Saraphi district. However, as his religious duties and responsibilities increased, he did not neglect his studies. Therefore, he mentioned his studies to Kruba Phat that he wanted to study Pali, which is the language that recorded the teachings of the Lord Buddha, totaling 84,000 Dhammakkhandha, consisting of Suttas, Dhamma, and Vinaya, or known as the Tripitaka. He therefore asked Kruba Phat to leave his studies at the Pali level for the second time, studying at the Dhamma Hall of Wat Phra That Hariphunchai in Lamphun Province, until he passed the Pali examinations 1 and 2. While he was studying for the third level, Kruba Phat’s mission in spreading Buddhism, both in terms of governance, the dissemination of public utilities, and education, increased. He needed someone to help ease the burden of his work. The young monk had to drop out of school for the second time because the bond between a student and a teacher was greater than anything else.
Kruba Noi was a monk who was interested in studying the Dhamma of the Lord Buddha regularly as he had said before. Therefore, he always found time to practice Dhamma whenever the opportunity and time allowed. When he was a young novice, he had joined the meditation with Kruba Phat at Wat Nong Tao, San Sai District, Chiang Mai. At that time, he was still young and could not remember many details. Later, around 1970, when he was a senior novice, he went on a pilgrimage with Kruba Phat. Finally, he set up a tent at Khao Khiew, Nakhon Sawan Province, at the Chiraprawat Camp (now the condition is not visible, but at that time, it was more famous because Khao Khiew was full of animals because it was a dense forest). When evening fell, there were many animal sounds until around 1 a.m. there was a loud sound, the sound of a tiger roaring, amidst the sound of cicadas that were chirping throughout the forest. Kruba Noi spread his loving-kindness, and the sound became quiet. This was the first experience that Kruba Noi had encountered when he was a novice. Then, when he was a monk, around 1974, Kruba Noi Techapanyo went on a forest pilgrimage to pay homage to the four footprints in Mae Rim District and pitched a tent to stay overnight at the four footprints. He intended to go to pay homage to the footprints to remember the five Buddhas and prayed for the power of the five Buddhas to allow him to see the truth to be a light to lead him to Nirvana once again. Kruba Noi went on a pilgrimage with two other novice disciples, Noi Kasem and Noi Sak (who have now become laypeople), to seek peace and solitude in practicing Dhamma by pilgrimage to Chiang Rai Province, passing through Doi Saket District of Chiang Mai, to Chiang Rai Province, to Phayao and Phrae, and returning via Lampang Province, entering Lamphun until reaching Wat Si Don Moon. He spent about half a month on the pilgrimage.
He set up his tent in the cemetery where he met the spirits and the Opathika and had visions from time to time. He would spread loving kindness to them all the time. After they received the merit, they would disappear.
Received blessing from Kruba Noi by tied string on wrist. It has a strong spiritual aura. I could feel the warm blessing in me, during the blessing as well.
Kruba Noi Hand Write Yants for his first batch Roon Reak Rian that I obtained.
Received from Kruba Noi his First Batch Roon Reak Rian, sadhu sadhu sadhu.
Last photo taken with Kruba Noi after received his blessing as I intended to pay respects to the teacher. After this I walk around and explore the temple and share more photos in part 2/2.
