Wat Pa Wang Nam Yen has become a major tourist attraction in Maha Sarakham province. Phra Ajarn Suriyan Kosapanyo has preserved and developed this temple to be stunningly beautiful with rare wood work art of temple building and also of the sacred Phra Buddha statues. The main highlight is the largest golden teakwood pavilion in the world, made entirely of real golden teakwood, along with 32 large golden teakwood pillars. In this part 1/2, we will share photos of Phra Chedi Sri Maha Sarakham (with surrounding) and part 2/2 will share photos of LP Suriyan Kosapanyo (with surrounding).

This temple Wat Pa Wang Nam Yen was built by Phra Ajarn Suriyan Kosapanyo, a disciple of Luang Pu Khampan Kosapanyo, a revered monk among the people of Isan. It was built in BE2549 and now still in progress expansion.

This Chedi is beautiful and shows the glory of Buddhism in Taksila Nakhon, as the motto of Maha Sarakham province says, “Buddha Monument of Isan, Home of Civilization, Valuable Silk, Taksila Nakhon.”Elephants of Wat Pa Wang Nam Yen and it participate for making merit by receiving offering foods from devotees.
Then we went to see the prayer hall, which uses 112 wooden pillars and is considered the largest wooden prayer hall in Thailand. This wooden building is double storey with high ceiling for second floor.
