Visiting Wat PhraThat Doi Khao Kwai (SiHuHaTa Temple) - Origin SiHuHaTa Statue & Largest SiHuHaTa Statue - Chiang Rai - Thailand (Part 2/2).

Wat PhraThat Doi Khao Kwai is the place is incredibly beautiful and pleasant, a large area, a lot of details, a viewpoint with a beautiful Chiang Rai town view. Its full name is Wat PhraThat Doi Khao Kwai Kaew but people know it as Wat PhraThat Doi Khao Kwai. “Wat PhraThat Doi Khao Kwai Kaew” translates the “temple of the glass buffalo mountain“. 

The new Ubosot of Wat PhraThat Doi Khao Kwai & Big SiHuHaTa statue built by under supervised Kruba Nong Sumano recently. This included construct a viewing deck, walkway and other facilities to attract tourists to the temple.

The new and largest statue of SiHuHaTa in Wat PhraThat Doi Khao Kwai. A local legendary creature with four ears and five eyes, that eats red-hot charcoal which it defecates as pure gold.

The main Emerald Phra Buddha enshrined inside the Ubosot ordination hall. Featured with ordination hall with an emerald Buddha statue flanked by intricate gold columns and colorful paper lanterns.

Here another sacred SiHuHaTa statue (medium size in the temple) and consecrated by Kruba Nong Sumano. Worshipper can make offering by burn charcoal inside braziers positioned placed near SiHuHaTa statue.

The origin first statue of SiHuHaTa in the temple Wat Phrathat Doi Khao Kwai. There’s a basket of charcoal with a convenient scoop and braziers positioned placed near SiHuHaTa statue, so people can burn charcoal as an offering to SiHuHaTa.

The long Naga staircase that led top the hill through the forest with 2 Tao Wessuwan guards at top. We had been driven straight into the compound, as I guess like most visitors are these days. Seldom visitor arrived on foot by climb this long Naga staircase.
